Cricut Etching

I STRIVE TO TRY NEW CRAFTS.  THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT USING A CHEMICAL TO ETCH ON JARS.  I USED VINYL ON MY CRICUT AND CUT OUT "STENCILS".

THE HARDEST PART WAS PIECING IN THE SCROLL WORK IN ON THE GLASS, SINCE I'M USING THE NEGATIVE SPACE TO ETCH IN.  BUT IT WASN'T BAD, UNLESS YOU'RE PICKY!

THE DIRECTIONS SAY APPLY A THICK COAT.  HOW THICK IS "THICK"???  THEN LEAVE ON FOR 5 MINUTES.  RINSE WHEN DONE.   DON'T SEND IT DOWN THE SINK INTO YOUR SEPTIC.  I WORKED ON MINE OUTSIDE, BUT SHOULD HAVE WORN GLOVES.  RINSING DIDN'T REALLY WORK, SO I WIPED IT OFF, THEN TRIED RINSING, & PEELED OFF THE VINYL.

THE RESULTS:

IT'S EXTREMELY HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH.  IT WAS LIGHTER THAN I EXPECTED.  BUT OVERALL, IT TURNED OUT KIND OF NEAT!
