Skull Tag....and more

Well I finally figured out how to get back into my blog.  I was struggling after changing my internet browser. I'm a computer idiot.   But hooray, I figured it out on my own.

I got swept away in Tim Holtz's creative inspiration once again & made some fun tags for the September tag of the month.  Here is his wonderful example:

DSC00674

My skull creation is first:  It's a mini blueprint stamp & simple hole punches!

I did the skull stamping first.  Then I did some wet embossing with a sparkle clear powder.
It's different than Tim's process, but was still a lot of fun.

The trick to my hefty bows is to use a full yard of ribbon, or way more than you normally
would.  This is one area NOT to skimp on supplies.  You'll notice an amazing difference in
your tags.  Trust me!

This next tag doesn't follow his example as well, but I got hooked on embossing!  That distress
ink resist look is so cool!  Again, I stamped my bat first, then colored it in, THEN did my distress ink.

I used some of his rub-ons for a Halloween theme tag.  Can you believe I broke out a fancy metal charm?  I tend to hoard this stuff, so alleluia for creativity that knows no hesitation!

So I have to ask....which tag do you like better?

Old Cosmo Cricket

This old paper from Cosmo Cricket made the
ideal background for a sympathy card.
It's a pale, thoughtful scene.  A few black
Stickles on the floating seeds gave it a faint
shimmer.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamps.

Trees & Owls

Wow, it feels like fall here today in Minnesota!
I'm ready and excited.  Who doesn't love the
festive colors when the trees turn?
Not to mention it's scarf & cute boot weather.

Here are a few fall theme cards,
using Echo Parks old Fall Fever papers.

That darling sentiment is Unity Stamp Company's
Tribal Trends.  I love the arrow craze,
since I'm an avid bowhunter.

The "happy birthday" sentiment was in a grab bag
or prize bundle from Unity.  I'm such an addict, it's
hard to keep track!  With their latest sale I ordered
almost $200!  It's justified with my garage sale earnings.
My newest craze is their Kit Of The Months that go
on sale.  I just love these big sets of awesomeness.
Does anyone have good storage tips for them?
It's becoming a problem.

Pumpkin Cards

We are inching closer to Halloween,
although I'm just excited for fall in general.
Here is the color challenge from
Unity Stamp Company:

Pretty spooky, I know!
I don't sell many Halloween cards
and it's a gamble that I'll mail
any out, but here are my card
creations just for the fun of it....

The stamp sets used are

I cut the pumpkin on my Cricut.
Which reminds me,
I need to go cut my pumpkins
from the vine in the garden before
the deer sneak in and eat them!
Plus we just had 5 inches of rain in
24 hours, so they're sitting in puddles
anyhow! It's the strangest fall ever
here in Minnesota.
Do YOU grow your own pumpkins?
